Trevor Needham and Mandar Bokare win SETAC Award!
Trevor Needham and Mandar Bokare; PhD students in Dr. Upal Ghosh’s research group at Department of Chemical, Biochemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC); received the 1st and 2nd best student presentation awards respectively at the 2018 Annual Spring Meeting of Chesapeake Potomac Regional Chapter (CPRC) of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) held on 23rd April 2018 in Fredericksburg, VA.
Trevor was awarded the best student presentation award for his work on "Microbial Interaction with Carbonaceous Material and the Implications for Environmental Remediation" and Mandar was awarded 2nd place for his work on “Quantification of water-air transfer of PCBs and pesticides in the Anacostia River using passive sampling.
