The CBEE Department at UMBC proudly congratulates CBEE student Catherine Spencer for her success in winning first place in her category, "Separations," at the collegiate poster competition of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers' Annual Meeting and Student Conference in Pittsburg. Her poster is titled "Extraction of Rare Elements from Coal and Coal by-products," and focuses on her summer research at the National Energy Technology Laboratory. Catherine is a senior ChE major.
