Title
Dynamic signaling response to A nidulans cell-wall perturbation by different antifungals measured using proteomic analysis
Abstract
The fungal cell wall is critical in providing protection, structure, and strength to filamentous fungi. Understanding the cell wall is critical for leveraging beneficial fungi as well as fighting pathogenic fungi. In order to increase our understanding of the cell wall, a comprehensive omics approach will be used to study the filamentous fungi Aspergillus nidulans. Leveraging phosphoproteomics, proteomics and transcriptomics, dynamic studies of the cell wall will be carried out to understand the regulation of the cell wall after treatment with Micafungin and Nikkomycin Z which target beta-glucan synthase and chitin synthase respectively. Using a combination of these -omics experiments and morphological assessments, the regulatory networks underlying the response to cell wall stress will be identified.
Agenda
- 8:45 am: Meeting room will open
- 9:00 am: 45-min presentation will be open to the public with Q&A.
- Followed by a closed session with the committee and PhD Student.
