Why I chose CBEE: I chose CBEE because it is a versatile and multidisciplinary field that combines chemistry, biology, math, physics, and engineering to solve real-world problems while allowing students to pursue industry, research, and grad school opportunities.

Areas of Interest in Chemical Engineering: My areas of interest include biotechnology, biochemical processes, and healthcare-related research.

My favorite thing about CBEE is: The community. The professors genuinely want students to succeed, and I’ve made some great friends through CBEE. The upperclassmen have also been very helpful and welcoming.

Advice for a new CBEE student: My advice for a new CBEE student is to get involved, and to explore different opportunities and interests. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. This major can be intimidating at times, but there are always people willing to support you. And remember to enjoy the experience and have fun along the way.

What I plan to do with my Chemical Engineering degree: I plan to either pursue a career in biotechnology or continue my education through medical school.

UMBC Activities & Clubs: Society of Women Engineers and Sikh Student Association.

Hobbies: I love making coffee and matcha drinks. I also enjoy cooking, painting, and traveling.

My favorite thing about the Baltimore area: There are so many good cafes and restaurants in the Baltimore Area.
