Billing Rates
- Academic Coursework: 1 student fee per credit
- Pre-Candidacy Research Credits (898) (semesters BEFORE CBEE students complete proposal): 1/3 student fee per credit
- Post-Candidacy Research Credits(899) (semesters AFTER CBEE student complete proposal): 2/9 student fee per credit
- Academic Progress Unit (GRAD 600, GRAD 601 & GRAD 603): 0 student fee per credit
Benefits of enrolling in GRAD 600, GRAD 601 or GRAD 603
- Full-time GAs must be enrolled in 9 credits. GRAD 601 can be used by full-time students to fulfill the credit requirement. GRAD 600 can be used by part-time students.
- In the schedule of classes, GRAD 600, GRAD 601 & GRAD 603, are listed under the subject “GRAD – Graduate School Assistantship”.
- GAs are not billed tuition or fees for GRAD 600, GRAD 601, or GRAD 603;
- GRAD 600, GRAD 601, and GRAD 603 do not appear on transcripts;
- GRAD 600 (3 credits), GRAD 601 (5 credits), and GRAD 603 (2 credits) will appear at registration to be for 0 credits. However, GAs are receiving the proper number of credits (3, 5, and 2, respectively); GA Registration Requirements
Example 1: Course & Research
Without GRAD 601
3 credits of normal coursework are billed for 3 credits.
6 credits of Pre-Candidacy (898) are billed at a rate of ⅓ for 2 credits.
9 credits are taken, and 5 credits are billed. At $151 per credit billed the total is $755.
With GRAD 601
3 credits of normal coursework are billed for 3 credits.
3 credits of Pre-Candidacy (898) are billed at a rate of ⅓ for 1 credits.
5 credits of GRAD 601 are not billed
11 credits are taken, and 4 credits are billed. At $151 per credit billed the total is $604, saving you $151.
Example 2: Pre-Candidacy Research Credits Only
No coursework
Without GRAD 601
9 credits of Pre-Candidacy (898) are billed at a rate of ⅓ for 3 credits.
9 credits are taken, and 3 credits are billed. At $151 per credit billed the total is $453.
With GRAD 601
4 credits of Pre-Candidacy (898) are billed at a rate of ⅓ for 1⅓ credits.
5 credits of GRAD 601 are not billed.
9 credits are taken, and 1⅓ credits are billed. At $151 per credit billed the total is $201, saving you $252.
