Description

Lumpkin Society is a bi-weekly event for all CBEE graduate to hang out in a safe space and be SCIENCE NERDS together!

The Lumpkin Society is named for the late Professor Lumpkin, whose deep commitment and concern for students both in and outside of the classroom and for inspiring women and minorities to pursue studies in science and engineering inspires the department and graduate student community.

The Lumpkin Society meetings are a safe place for CBEE graduate students to meet.  Exclusive to CBEE graduate students, activities fulfill both social and academic needs.  They are an opportunity to socialize, discuss research, departmental activities, and connect with student leaders.  Food and drink are generously provided by the department and each meeting will have a theme, usually in the format of a presentation and discussion of a research topic lead by one of the members.

April 27th 5-7pm in TRC 206 for Lumpkin Society!
Don't miss socializing over Pizza at 5pm!

Chad and Alex will be running a Town Hall for the CBEE Grad Students starting at 545pm.
TOWN HALL TOPICS:
- Policies the CBEE GSO has advocated for this year
- Progress on policy advocacy
- End of year events
- Discussion of what issues are most important to our student body
- Open Q&A

Just a reminder that the Lumpkin Society is exclusive to CBEE graduate students ONLY as we all need a safe place to socialize and decompress together 🙂
