"The Minneapolis Biochar Program: An Equity-Based Approach"
Abstract
Biochar is a cost-effective, scalable, carbon-negative technology having ecological/environmental benefits. At the same time climate change affects everybody, but its impact is not felt equally. Rather it is disproportionately felt by society’s most vulnerable populations. The Minneapolis Climate Equity Plan incorporates biochar as a tool to build climate resilience in environmental justice communities. This presentation will cover the goals and implementation of the Minneapolis Carbon Sequestration Program including climate equity.
